Title: | The Role of Voice Narrative in Extending Management Scholarship in the PRC | Contributor(s): | Jabri, Muayyad (author) | Publication Date: | 2004 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/4650 | Abstract: | This article articulates some of the characteristics of narrative and offers a brief critique of the potential of this genre for extending the territory of management scholarship in the People's Republic of China (PRC). Through an understanding of narrative and its potential for enriching our understanding of the workplace, we can be better equipped to manage the radical changes taking place in the PRC. The paper argues that taking account of voice narrative is necessary if we are to make sense of the short-to-medium trends taking shape in the PRC. | Publication Type: | Conference Publication | Conference Details: | IACMR 2004: 2004 International Association for Chinese Management Research Inaugural Conference, Beijing, China, 17th - 20th June, 2004 | Source of Publication: | Mapping the Territory for Chinese Management Research: Proceedings of The 2004 IACMR Inaugural Conference | Publisher: | International Association for Chinese Management Research | Place of Publication: | Beijing, China | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 150312 Organisational Planning and Management | Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) 2008: | 910402 Management | Peer Reviewed: | Yes | HERDC Category Description: | E1 Refereed Scholarly Conference Publication | Publisher/associated links: | http://www.iacmr.org/Conferences/Conf2004/conference.htm |
