Title: | Productive Pathways for Teacher Education: Portfolios on the Agenda | Contributor(s): | Maxwell, Thomas William (author) | Publication Date: | 2002 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/4559 | Abstract: | The paper reconceptualizes the traditional research at the Bachelors (Hons) and Masters (Hons) levels and so creates new pathways in research from Bachelors through Masters to Doctoral level. The starting point is Gibbons and colleagues (1994) 'new production of knowledge' in which university knowledge is not privileged over knowledge production in other sites such as workplaces. The three-way model of Lee, Green and Brennan (200) for Professional Doctoral education is generalised to the other two levels of university research awards and the portfolio is presented as an important alternative to the dissertation as a research product. | Publication Type: | Conference Publication | Conference Details: | Challenging Futures: Changing Agendas in Teacher Education Conference, Armidale, Australia, 3rd - 7th February, 2002 | Source of Publication: | Challenging Futures: Changing Agendas in Teacher Education | Publisher: | University of New England | Place of Publication: | Armidale, Australia | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 130313 Teacher Education and Professional Development of Educators | Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) 2008: | 930202 Teacher and Instructor Development | Peer Reviewed: | Yes | HERDC Category Description: | E1 Refereed Scholarly Conference Publication | Publisher/associated links: | http://trove.nla.gov.au/work/32391422 |
