Black Soldier Fly ('Hermetia illucens') larvae (BSF) contains up to 26% fat and 40% protein (dry matter based) with 9% methionine and thus can be considered as a sustainable high quality protein source for poultry feed (De Marco et al., 2015). The present study was designed to determine the effect of choice feeding with BSF on flock performance of free-range laying hens. | Publication Type: | Conference Publication | Conference Details: | ESVCN Congress 2016: 20th Congress of the European Society of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition, Berlin, Germany, 15th - 17th September, 2016 | Source of Publication: | Proceedings of the 20th Congress of the ESVCN, p. 86-86 | Publisher: | European Society of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition | Place of Publication: | Berlin, Germany | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 070204 Animal Nutrition | Fields of Research (FoR) 2020: | 300303 Animal nutrition | Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) 2008: | 830501 Eggs | Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) 2020: | 100601 Eggs | Peer Reviewed: | Yes | HERDC Category Description: | E1 Refereed Scholarly Conference Publication |
