Abstract: It was postulated by Ferket et al. (2002) that the decrease in thickness of intestinal external muscularis in relation to the feeding of manno-oligosaccharides (MOS) is likely to be associated with an overall improvement in gut viability where there is a reduced need for gut motility to control gut microbial activities. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the interactive effects of MOS and dietary threonine on feed passage rate.
