Abstract: One of the many emerging technologies, and in the authors, one with unlimited possibilities to enhance teaching and learning, is that of IWBs IWBs (interactive whiteboards). IWBs offer an exciting learning facility, but there are some important guiding principles. Effective teaching (no matter what resource and hardware is used) is always linked to sound, pedagogical practices: • Clearly indicating the learning outcomes to be achieved • Designing sequences of related steps towards those desired outcomes • Relating learning to students' needs, pacing the leaning to meet students' level and interests • Giving students feedback on their progress
