Abstract:

In a medical database it is important to provide both privacy of patient’s records and access to a patient’s record not only by his/her own doctor, but in case of an emergency also by other authorized medical personnel. This paper describes how emergency access can be implemented using secret sharing schemes, and in particular, latin squares.
