Abstract: Women's very poor representation at the most senior levels of publicly-listed companies has attracted considerable attention since the release of figures showing women make up only 3.4% of board positions on public companies in Australia. The aim of this article is to establish just where women are on public boards and to explore the views of those women who have 'made it' on how they gained entry to, and have experienced, the boards of public companies.
