Abstract: Plant-based attractants for adult Helicoverpa spp., especially for females, would add a powerful tool to the range of management options available for these difficult pests. This paper reviews potential sources from which such semiochemicals might be developed, and describes preliminary studies screening a range of crop, weed, tree and native Australian plant species for attractiveness using an olfactomer bioassay.
