Title: An Investigation of Understanding of the Self and the Other in High-Functioning Autism/Asperger's Syndrome

Abstract: The focus of this paper will be to present and discuss one set of data derived from a research project, that has been carried out for a PhD degree and will be submitted in September 1995, In the filst section, I wish to describe the methodology of this study. In the second part, I will concentrate on a singe stage of the fieldwork: findings from interviews on self-understanding in a group of children with high-functioning autism / Asperger's syndrome (HFA / AS) compared with a group of children with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and a group of adults with Aperger's syndrome (AS).
