Abstract: Many students with learning difficulties exhibit consistent weaknesses in basic reading skills that can be challenging to address within the context of the regular classroom. This paper outlines an innovative pedagogic intervention, QuickSmart, which focuses on improving reading fluency and comprehension skills. The effective application of QuickSmart in a high school setting is described in detail.
