Abstract: FRP sheets can be used to repair reinforced concrete (RC) beams in moment resisting frames designed based on the strong-column weak-beam concept. Understanding the interaction between FRP and the beam is important for having an effective design. In this paper, based on the observed behaviour of the FRP-repaired specimens, strain-stress models have been developed to calculate the ultimate capacity of the web-bonded FRP beams. The ultimate failure can occur because of FRP rupture, concrete crushing, FRP de-bonding or local failure. The first two failure modes are considered in the current models. Based on these models, a computer program was developed in order to facilitate the analysis followed by the design charts that were generated by this program. Finally, the measured ultimate capacity of an FRP-repaired beam-column subassembly is compared with the result obtained from design charts. The agreement between these is reasonable proving the model reliable.
