Title: | The Impact of Inbound Tourism on Singapore's Economy: A CGE Modelling Approach | Contributor(s): | Meng, Xianming (author)![]() |
Publication Date: | 2010 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/13403 | Abstract: | Economic and technological developments in modern times have assisted in the expansion of world tourism. Singapore is a good example. The Singapore government is clearly aware of the important role of tourism on its economy, regarding tourism as a key service sector in its two-pillar (i.e. manufacturing and service) economy. This study employs recent tourism data, data from the upgraded input-output table, and a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model, to gauge the economic effects of Singapore tourism. | Publication Type: | Conference Publication | Conference Details: | Bridging the Gap between Ideas and Doing Research 2009: 4th Annual Postgraduate Research Conference, Armidale, Australia, 13th - 17th July, 2009 | Source of Publication: | Bridging the Gap between Ideas and Doing Research: Proceedings of the 4th Annual Postgraduate Research Conference, p. 172-184 | Publisher: | University of New England | Place of Publication: | Armidale, Australia | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 140216 Tourism Economics | Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) 2008: | 910199 Macroeconomics not elsewhere classified | Peer Reviewed: | Yes | HERDC Category Description: | E1 Refereed Scholarly Conference Publication | Publisher/associated links: | http://www.une.edu.au/faculties/professions/Resources/2010confabstracts/2009prcproceedings.pdf |
