Economic and technological developments in modern times have assisted in the expansion of world tourism. Singapore is a good example. The Singapore government is clearly aware of the important role of tourism on its economy, regarding tourism as a key service sector in its two-pillar (i.e. manufacturing and service) economy. This study employs recent tourism data, data from the upgraded input-output table, and a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model, to gauge the economic effects of Singapore tourism.en
