The purpose of the study was to investigate whether the use of graphic notations makes significant differences 1) in selected aspects of musical compositions, and 2) in Compositional Types by Australian secondary students. ... The results suggest that the use of graphic notations made significant differences for originality of compositions, and those who would most benefit by using graphic notations for composing are students with low to middle level composition ability.en
