The global economic shocks—partly triggered by a recurring spate of disease outbreaks (e.g., Ebola, COVID-19) and geopolitical tensions—have compounded persistent economic challenges, enormously affecting low-income families' financial security and stability and exacerbating poverty-associated vulnerabilities in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
