dc.description.abstract<p>3-nitrooxypropanol (3-NOP) is highly efficacious at inhibiting methane (CH<sub>4</sub>) emissions from cattle fed feedlot finisher diets typical of Australian production systems (based on white grains (wheat or barley) and including monensin), with inclusion of 100 mg 3-NOP/kg DM in a diet containing 81% barley, 2.4% oil and 25 ppm monensin reducing both CH<sub>4</sub> production and yield by 87 % (Almeida et al. 2023). This experiment sought to validate that result in 3 commercial feedlot finisher diets, also based on wheat or barley, including 25 ppm monensin and 100 mg 3-NOP/kg DM.</p>en
