Abstract:

The tittle of this special issue is polysemic. '' Breaking and Making Rules'' is at once a topic, an elliptical sentence awaiting action and direction, yet also a complete sentence and authoritative statement in its own right. In accordance with a similar dynamism, not only are rules in constant rules in constant flux, but so too are our disciplines and the universities in which they operate.
