dc.description.abstract | A collaborative project was carried out to embed ICT and 'Learning to Learn' strategies in an integrated unit of work for a Year 1/2 class. The ICT component involved using iMovie. Student learning was scaffolded throughout by a variety of learning tools to develop higher-order and metacognitive thinking, including graphic organisers, various matrices, and a range of reflection tools. The embedding of ICT increased students' motivation and engagement, and the embedding of 'Learning to Learn' strategies increased their skills as independent learners. The combination of ICT and thinking tools was a powerful stimulus to learning. | en |
