dc.description.abstract
Forty-four objects on loan from the National Archaeological Museum in Athens and a short exploration of Greek migration to Australia told through photographs constituted Open Horizons: Ancient Greek Journeys and Connections at Melbourne Museum. The exhibition covered a broad thematic land-scape, using material culture to illustrate the movement of people and ideas around the ancient Mediterranean. The range of objects allowed for interesting individual stories to be explored, and translated quotes from ancient texts brought ancient voices into the conversation.
en
