dc.description.abstract
The Play for Learning (P4L) research project supported the introduction of play-based learning approaches with K-2 stages at Drummond Memorial Public School (DMPS). The specific research focus was on ‘interacting’ as per the National Literacy Learning Progressions data requirements. The aim for the school community was to seek evidence about the efficacy of play-based programs for supporting children’s learning, development and well-being.

As detailed later, the project aligned with a social constructionist/critical theoretical frame and followed a critical participatory action research methodology. The project spanned the whole school year, with each cycle being conducted during each of the school terms. Changes were incorporated in the project timetable (appendix 1) as requests from teachers and professional learning needs were identified.
en
