Abstract: The Unit links to Environmental Education through encouraging an appreciation for marine life and environmental problems that can affect rock pool communities. Prior to the drama work, the class has developed an understanding of life in ocean tidal pools 'Life in a Rock Pool', by Greg Pyers is a useful factual text. The class could also view a video on the topic and go on an excursion to the beach to study and experience marine life. Background class work also Includes reading and discussing a fictional led that relates to this topic. such as Tim Winton's 'Blueback'. Adapt this unit to the flora, fauna,and habitat In your own local environment.
