dc.description.abstract
Relationships between man and animals date back to times immemorial. One central objective of such healthy relationships with animals had always included inter alia caring for the sick animals. Traditionally, human culture is full of narrations that depict care for animals. Given this primary focus, it is witnessed that contemporary veterinary medicine has advanced reaching its peaks parallel to human medicine. Undoubtedly, veterinary dentistry too has followed suit in evolving into a highly specialised branch in veterinary medicine in the developed world. Unfortunately, despite these advancements, veterinary dentistry in Sri Lanka seems to have been trapped in a 'time warp'.
en
