Based on the conference presentation, this paper is to highlight the transitology of Froebel’s theory. Transitology is the study of the process of change when theories travel from one place to another. This study explores the transitology of Froebel theory through the case of the development of Origami in early childhood education in Japan. Each country has different translation and transformation of Froebel theory according to their social, political, and cultural needs. The study unravels further the complex interplay of theory and practice in the implementation of Froebel kindergarten theory and practice in a different social, political, cultural, and educational context to that of the original theory.en
