Classical Greek literature has produced two outstanding historians: Herodotus and Thucydides. Herodotus, a collector of information, readily shares such with his audience, while Thucydides, a disciplined researcher and teacher, deliberately selects his historical data in order to educate his readers. Like the dramatists, Thucydides has a point to make and makes it. His account of the Sicilian Expedition serves as an outstanding example of this.en
