Title: | Review of 'Free and Open Source Software, Policy, Law and Practice' Edited by Noam Shemtov and Ian Walden. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2014. £95. ISBN: 9780199680498. | Contributor(s): | Perry, Mark (author) | Publication Date: | 2015 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/23408 | Abstract: | Assembling a book of a dozen essays, even if one is your own, is a massive task and one that is fraught with pitfalls. To name but a few: choosing a theme that is broad enough to encompass a variety of perspectives on the one hand, but narrow enough to make sense as a single volume; finding high-quality authors in the particular field who are willing to contribute, and making sure that they do contribute within a timeframe; editing and sculpting a sequence of papers that makes some kind of coherent sense. The reviewer faces the attendant challenge of how to provide the potential audience for the book with an accurate view of the contents on differentiated topics and perspectives. | Publication Type: | Review | Source of Publication: | European Intellectual Property Review, 37(1), p. 61-62 | Publisher: | Sweet & Maxwell Ltd | Place of Publication: | United Kingdom | ISSN: | 0142-0461 | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 180115 Intellectual Property Law | Fields of Research (FoR) 2020: | 480603 Intellectual property law | Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) 2008: | 949999 Law, Politics and Community Services not elsewhere classified | Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) 2020: | 239999 Other law, politics and community services not elsewhere classified | HERDC Category Description: | D3 Review of Single Work |
