Title: | Trollope, Anthony (1815-82) | Contributor(s): | Hale, Elizabeth (author) | Publication Date: | 2004 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/2270 | Abstract: | Anthony Trollope was born in London on 24 April 1815 and died there on 6 December 1882. His father, a barrister descended from a line of Lincolnshire baronets, left his profession to take up farming, with disastrous results. During this period Anthony Trollope daily walked twelve miles to Harrow School; later he attended Winchester School, when his mother, Frances Trollope, started to stave off financial ruin through her career as a novelist. Unlike his father, however, Trollope did not attend university. | Publication Type: | Entry In Reference Work | Source of Publication: | Dictionary of British Classicists, v.3.
