dc.description.abstract | This paper analyses the responses of Grade 1-2 students to a task requiring them to reason about the data generated from a computer game simulation and create pictographs of the number of different variables. Students' responses have provided strong indication of how they associated chance with data and made inferences from the graphical representation of the data. Findings show how students responded to the variability in the representations and made predictions on the basis of graphical representations, even as early as when pictographs were used. | en |
