My father has a neatly trimmed moustache, eyebrows thick and black, hair combed back into a stylish quiff. He's wearing his summer khaki uniform with open jacket and shirt, sergeant stripe neat on his right arm, pilot wings complete with crown and a centered "NZ" above his heart. He looks virile and healthy. A perfect soldier.
