Abstract: Leadership is one of the transferable skills associated with employability and as such may be included in a suite of graduate attributes which many universities aspire to develop within their graduates. There has been little research into learning opportunities which enhance graduates' capacity to participate in collaborative leadership. Group work, frequently cited as developing students' leadership competence, may not progress students to the stage of "leadership" irrespective of its definition. A framework of students' collaborative leadership development, which includes illustrative educational objectives, is proposed.
