Title: | A review of the ecology of fleabane ('Conyza' spp.) | Contributor(s): | Green, Todd Douglas (author); Sindel, Brian Mark (author) ; Charles, G (author); Werth, J (author) | Publication Date: | 2008 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/11533 | Abstract: | Fleabanes ('Conyza' spp.) are an increasing problem in annual summer crops in Australia. In this paper we review the available literature on the ecology of 'Conyza' species in order to better understand the possible reasons for this recent increase. Aspects of germination, growth and development, seed dispersal, crop interaction and herbicide resistance are included. In addition we highlight research gaps in fleabane ecology for subsequent investigation of the species in Australia. | Publication Type: | Conference Publication | Conference Details: | 16AWC: 16th Australian Weeds Conference, Cairns, Australia, 18th - 22nd May, 2008 | Source of Publication: | 16th Australian Weeds Conference Proceedings: Weed Management 2008 - Hot Topics in the Tropics, p. 171-173 | Publisher: | Queensland Weeds Society | Place of Publication: | Brisbane, Australia | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 070308 Crop and Pasture Protection (Pests, Diseases and Weeds) | Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) 2008: | 960413 Control of Plant Pests, Diseases and Exotic Species in Farmland, Arable Cropland and Permanent Cropland Environments | Peer Reviewed: | Yes | HERDC Category Description: | E1 Refereed Scholarly Conference Publication | Publisher/associated links: | http://www.caws.org.au/awc/2008/awc200811711.pdf |
