Abstract: This paper reports on a new method of using pictorial representations, to gain an enhanced understanding of statistical information, which is traditionally presented in numerical format. An instrument was developed by Haynes et al (2005) to differentiate varying qualities of movement for children, young to older adults, who performed a forward roll. The validity of the instrument was ascertained by employing the Rasch Statistical Model. Data were presented in the form of numerical tables as well as utilising specific notational codes. This paper presents a more visual means of examining the Rasch output in terms of the varying difficulty of the components. The method employs pictures, which are designed to convey the same numerical data, in a new and innovative format.
