Title: | Multiliteracies, e-Literature and English Teaching | Contributor(s): | Unsworth, Len (author) | Publication Date: | 2005 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/946 | Abstract: | The impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) is changing the nature of literary narratives for children and the contexts in which they experience and respond to such narratives outside of school contexts. However, in the main, teachers do not feel confident or comfortable in the world of digital multimedia. Children's literature can bridge this inter-generational digital divide in the English classroom. This paper introduces frameworks that may assist teachers in negotiating curricular and pedagogic approaches with children using digital resources for developing literary understanding and literacy learning. | Publication Type: | Conference Publication | Conference Details: | Multiliteracies and English Teaching K-12 in the Age of Information and Communication Technologies 2004, Armidale, Australia, 24th - 27th November, 2004 | Source of Publication: | Multiliteracies and English Teaching K-12 in the Age of Information and Communication Technologies 2004: Conference Papers, p. 1-16 | Publisher: | University of New England | Place of Publication: | Armidale, Australia | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 130313 Teacher Education and Professional Development of Educators | HERDC Category Description: | E2 Non-Refereed Scholarly Conference Publication | Publisher/associated links: | http://alea.edu.au/ | Description: | Paper reprinted as a journal article Unsworth, L.
