Abstract: The onset of the global financial crisis (GFC), beginning in 2008, has created a worldwide gloom but some of the characteristics of this crisis could be exploited to initiate agricultural development, including an improvement in animal nutrition. The objective of this paper is to examine ways by which the GFC can be used to aid the development of animal, and particularly poultry production in Nigeria.
