dc.description.abstract | Archaeology in Practice is a well presented volume that covers a wide range of topics from consulting indigenous stakeholders to writing up results. Most contributors include case studies which highlight how methods and theories presented in their papers can be applied. It also features notes or subheadings in the margins that allows quick access to relevant sections for future reference. Chapter One deals with 'Finding Sites' and focuses on remote sensing and underwater reconnaissance with some discussion of more traditional pedestrian surveys. David explains the science and practical application of many common methods of finding sites with an emphasis on various magnetic techniques. He then tackles underwater geophysical techniques. Many of these discussions of detection methods are highlighted with illustrations. | en |
