Abstract: The creation of greater research leadership and capacity in nursing is of importance not just to the profession of nursing, but also to the health and care of patients. In reviewing this paper, effectively this is a critique of three matters: the writing of the author, the Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) initiative from the National Institute for Health Research, and the specific successful bid in South Yorkshire, the first being of least importance to patients and their carers.
