Abstract: 

Kierkegaard and Classical Greek Thought is divided into five sections covering various dimensions of Greek culture. The first section deals with Kierkegaard's engagement with Greek literature. The second section focuses on Kierkegaard's response to Socratic irony. The third section considers the broader role of Socrates in Kierkegaard's religious writings. The fourth section probes Kierkegaard's relation to Greek rhetoric. he fifth section investigates Kierkegaard's relation to classical thinkers other than Socrates or Plato.
