Abstract: No injunctive reliefs can be granted against ships which may infringe UK patents if they belong to or are registered in countries signatory to the Paris Convention and are involved in trade in or voyages into the United Kingdom unless they are permanently within its territorial waters. This is the outcome of the Court of Appeal's decision in the case of Stena Rederi v Irish Ferries.
