dc.description.abstract
Catherine Bond has taken a new perspective on Australia's World War One history. In Law in War, she focusses on the impact of wartime legal restrictions on the civilian population of Australia. This topic in itself is an area which has received little scholarly attention, however Bond also examines the personal stories of those involved in the cases and the development of legislation. This makes for an original and compelling insight into the law of the time, and what it meant for some of the people who lived through it.
en
