dc.description.abstract | Cyproheptadine is a serotonin and histamine antagonist. It has been used as an appetite stimulant in humans and chickens (Injidi and Forbes, 1987) and to increase follicular development during lactation in sheep (Kridli and Hallford, 1997). Its prolonged use has been associated with type I diabetes mellitus in humans (Yoon et al., 1987). The effects of this drug on appetite and glucose metabolism in sheep have not been studied. | en |
