Abstract: 'Promoting Student learning' is an important resource for all teachers. It contains myriad ideas ('jigsaw pieces') to inform your teaching, but is not a mere summary of ideas and various strategies which are believed to promote student learning. To this end, the authors concentrate on raising questions, examining issues, presenting practical strategies, and encouraging you to think about how you as teachers can fit the jigsaw pieces together in your own way to help your students to learn.
