The article discusses whether the Northern Territory Government's Working Future: Outstations/homelands policy statement and the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Closing the Gap program is consistent with Indigenous people's human rights. It evaluates how the current homelands policy conforms with the neo-liberal ideology and examines the objectives of Closing the Gap and Working Future. It cites the homeland communities as the preferred lifestyle choice of most Indigenous Australians that need to be supported.en
