dc.description.abstractThe Rural Science degree has now evolved through more than 50 years and it is interesting to reflect on the key 'selection pressures' that have contributed to this process. One of the things which has become immediately obvious to me as I have examined this sweep of history is that the changes In the curriculum have not necessarily been as a result of their selection being based on the fitness traits that would equip students to contribute best to the needs of agriculture and of natural resources management.en
