dc.description.abstractThe suitability of a long-chain hydrocarbon, hexatriacontane (C36H74), as a digestibility marker in poultry has been investigated. The concentrations of the acid in soluble ash and hydrocarbon markers in the ileal and excreta samples were closely correlated and the estimations of ileal and faecal dry matter digestibilities were similar. Dry matter digestibility values estimated by the marker technique were identical with those determined by the classical total collection method.en
