A challenge in mental health research is the development of an evidence base that documents and shows which elements of engagement and service experiences are linked with health outcomes and how. CORE is an abbreviation for The CORE Study: a stepped wedge cluster randomised controlled trial to test a co-design technique to optimise psychosocial recovery in the community mental health setting. The three year CORE study will trial a new approach that brings together service users, carers and mental health staff to identify areas for improvement in mental health services. It has received $1.7 million from the Victorian Government's $10 million Mental Illness Research Fund which supports collaborative mental health research projects.en
