Abstract: This chapter, and the next, focus on literacy within the digital domain, Changing literacies are explored in response to the new affordances and challenges of digital and multimodal media, as students and teachers are increasingly required to plan and work within digital platforms: use digital resources and tools; and use, respond to and create digital texts. In this chapter, Anne-Marie Morgan explores the digital domain in which teachers and students engage as context for the following chapter, in which a middle years teacher, Melissa White discusses her work with students in English, exploring their engagement with internet resources and working in the school's digital learning platform. In both chapters, explicit connections are made to the Australian Curriculum, in relation to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) General capability, the use of ICTs in English, and as a vehicle of and for(changing) literacy learning.
