Abstract: | This paper explores the influence of Confucianism on Korean traditional music by examining the musical style of 'Moonmyo Jereak', a Confucian ritual music of the 'Yi' dynasty of 'Chosun' (1392-1910) in Korea. When the 'Yi' dynasty of 'Chosun' adopted Confucianism as the national religion and philosophy, Confucianism was never as strong in any country as it became in Korea. |
