Positive Behaviour Intervention and Support (PBIS) is a school-wide system that provides the framework for clear expectations of behaviours and consistent consequences for inappropriate behaviour across all classrooms and other school settings. The PBIS system is supposed to assist the subject school to decrease problem behaviour, increase academic performance, increase safety and establish positive school cultures. The purpose of this Action Research Study was to examine how PBIS system was introduced and implemented at Al Amanah College High School. More particularly, the study aimed to explore the effect of this new approach on the school community. In determining whether or not this newly introduced behaviour support system (PBIS) was likely to achieve its goals, it was necessary to examine the cultural environment, the impact of the introduction of the (PBIS) program, factors influencing the success of (PBIS), managing change, quality leadership, staff recognition, staff evaluation, appraisal and professional development.en
