Biography
Mr. Thai Van Nguyen is currently a doctoral researcher at the Department of Geography and Planning, Earth Sciences, University of New England (Australia) and a human geography scientist with expertise in natural resource management, environmental change, development, vulnerability, and community resilience. His study focuses on how people and communities perceive and react to environmental change, as well as the various ways in which they can adapt and change. He is dedicated to conducting inter-disciplinary research on sustainability and has led international research teams examining gender, environmental change, and the transformation of livelihoods in Southeast Asia and the Asia Pacific.Mr. Thai is interested in the relationship and interdependence of the main sustainability challenges of poverty, gender inequality and equity, uncertainty, and environmental change. His current research allows him to engage with a variety of fields and disciplines, including human geography, political ecology, climate resilience, and gender and development studies. He employs concepts such as resilience, adaptation, vulnerability, and transformation to comprehend these alterations, and he also conducts research on agro-ecology, organic agricultural systems, and well-being.
