Biography
Jess Lamb is a playwright, producer, academic and teacher based on Queensland’s Capricorn Coast. Her most recent play, Rockpocalypse, was produced by Arts Central Queensland Inc. in 2019 and published by Playlab Theatre in 2020. Jess has been a strong advocate for regional artists, serving as a peer reviewer for Regional Arts Australia and Theatre Projects Coordinator for Arts Central Queensland Inc. She has collaborated with Cairns-based JUTE Theatre Company and is co-founder of Central Queensland's Midpoint Theatre Company. She is registered with the Queensland College of Teachers and has taught Drama to students from P-12 in school-based and private contexts, including through NIDA Open. She holds a Masters of Applied Theatre Studies (UNE 2019), Graduate Diploma in Education (QUT 2011), Bachelor of Creative Industries (QUT 2010), and is a PhD Candidate with the University of New England. Her research interests include: Applied Theatre Practice; Framing Theory and Experience Design; Gift Theory; Game Studies; and Regional Engagement.
