dc.description.abstract'Introducing Corporate Finance', second edition, has been designed to meet the needs of students in their first course in finance. The authors have drawn on their extensive teaching experience to ensure that this book provides the answers to those questions most frequently asked by students of corporate finance. The language used is also targeted to a student's first exposure to finance (either undergraduate or postgraduate) rather than at the level that would appear in the academic journals, and discipline-specific jargon is introduced with plain English explanations. In addition to accessible language and sound pedagogy, three further features of 'Introducing Corporate Finance' will he of interest to students. The first of these is the inclusion of real world examples at the start of each chapter and within chapters when appropriate. The second, the 'behavioural perspective' features, aims to inspire students to consider how the chapter material relates to the decisions people make. Behavioural perspectives are an innovation in a corporate finance textbook. Discussions of behavioural finance have also been introduced to weave a richer tapestry in the area of corporate finance. Third, corporate governance issues are highlighted where relevant throughout the text. This feature will assist students to further relate the material they are studying to current events in the corporate world.en
